Mr. Francis J. Kong, renowned inspirational speaker and businessman, visited PIQC last February 5, 2018 to talk to the Grade 5 to Grade 12 students about what it takes to become a good leader. This talk, held in the PIQC Auditorium, is a part of the series of activities leading to the Student Council Elections on February 20, 2018.
In his talk, Mr. Kong mentioned three principles that he wanted to impart to the students who will soon be voting the student leaders for next year. The three principles are as follows: 1) Be a lifelong learner, 2) Attitude is more important than skill, and 3) You have to be in control. Students and teachers alike listened while he processed these principles, even touching on his rough high school years up to today when he has already achieved great success.
After the talk, Mr. Kong stayed for questions from the students. A number of students asked Mr. Kong about how to live life to the fullest, how to become motivated in their studies, and even how to talk with much confidence. To end his talk, Mr. Kong commended the PIQC students for being competent communicators and for asking questions that were well-formed and well-thought-out, a testament that PIQC students are really on their way to become GIANTS in their own right.
