A multiple of activities was prepared to celebrate SCIMATECH MMXVIII. This is a combined celebration of the Subject Areas of Science, Math, and Technology (TLE). Activities that were co-curricular in nature were presented. Gift packs donated by the Green Cross Incorporated were given to the winners and participants.
A. Exhibit
- One room was allotted for Programming and robots which also contained Ipad applications that featured child-friendly puzzle and simple programming games like Tynker, Kids’n’Code, Swift playgrounds, Robot School and Switch and Glitch. There was also a Lego Mindstorms EV3 that the Programming Club students built to control the robots to perform various actions.
- Another room was assigned to the magical world of science. There were demonstrations for chemical reactions that occurs in daily life, hydraulics hands-on, actual viewing of DNA extraction of actual genes obtained from simple mouth wash, erosion experimental set-up, and viewing of micromolecules using Felta tablets.
- The third room contained projects made by the students. Projects included visual illusions which were set-up to play mind games using the senses. The Chinese Math projects created 3D-images and there were famous puzzles which have been remade by students in larger sizes. There were also child-friendly and interactive iPuzzle games in the ipad.
B. SCIMATECH RUSH
- This is an Amazing race type of game which consisted of activities located in eight different stations and situated in different places. Each activity was comprised of a variety of fun, mental, thrilling and physical challenges that are applications or supplemental lessons in Physics, Chemistry, Technology, Biology, and Math. Each group is made up of six members represented by one student each from Grades 1-6 and was tasked to finish the activities in the different stations with a maximum of 10 minutes.

C. E-SIPAGH SANAYAN
- The traditional quiz bee was enhanced by the use of the ipad as tool in the question and answer instead of writing the answers in a small blackboard. Regular math questions and Chinese Match, science and technology used the KOOBITS and the Socrative applications respectively. Each group was represented by one student each from Grades 1-6. There were a total of 10 groups. This also included audience participation who were randomly selected to answer a question. The winners are listed below.
